On 29th and 30th August 2026, our iconic two-seat Spitfire will be taking to the skies from this fantastic Essex location, with 30-minute flight experiences available.

With our strong military history, spanning back more than one hundred years, it’s always a special moment when wartime aircraft return to our runway, and this is a truly unique opportunity for people to experience the thrill of flying in a Supermarine Spitfire. It’s set to be an unforgettable experience for aviation enthusiasts and visitors alike.”
Located on the outskirts of Southend-on-Sea near the Essex coast, Southend Airport offers the perfect setting for an unforgettable flight. After accelerating down the runway, you’ll lift off and leave the airport behind, with the option to head out over the stunning Essex coastline or explore the beautiful, open countryside below.
Our experiences are designed to be flexible—there are no fixed routes, so your flight can be tailored within the 30-minute duration. During your time in the air, you’ll have the opportunity to take the controls under the guidance of one of our qualified pilots. For those seeking a thrill, you can even experience the famous “victory roll”, or simply sit back and enjoy a smooth, scenic flight.
As you return to Southend, you’ll touch down to a warm welcome from friends and family, cameras at the ready to capture your unforgettable Spitfire smile. Guests are welcome to enjoy the viewing area, with unlimited access, and up to four people can join you on the flight line for close-up photo opportunities with the aircraft.
Each experience also includes a commemorative flight pack, featuring Spitfire pilot’s notes, an aircrew patch, car sticker, flight certificate, and two in-flight videos (worth £150) to relive your adventure.
