Warbird Photography Session launches at Biggin Hill for the first time

Warbird Photography Session at the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar

Monday 30th March saw the launch of our first ever Warbird Photography Session ‘Biggin Hill at Nightfall’ with the Uk’s leading aviation photographer Darren Harbar.

On Monday, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of enthusiastic photographers to the hangar for our newly launched ‘Biggin Hill at Nightfall’ Warbird Photography Session, with Darren Harbar Photography. Set against the backdrop of our remarkable warbird collection and our in-house restoration and maintenance facility, the experience offered guests rare, unrestricted access to our aircraft—creating endless opportunities to capture unique angles and perspectives.

Participants enjoyed up-close encounters with our historic fleet, along with outdoor photography sessions featuring the Mustang, Buchon, and Spitfire. The addition of talented reenactors brought an extra layer of authenticity, helping to vividly recreate the atmosphere of a bygone era.

Inside the restoration hangar, the mood shifted dramatically. Bathed in bold, colourful lighting, our latest Spitfire restoration became the centrepiece of a dynamic visual display. The interplay of light and shadow transformed the space into a striking photographic environment, filled with rich tones and dramatic silhouettes.

The evening concluded with a special night shoot, as three of our aircraft powered up outside under the open sky. With ample space around each aircraft, photographers were free to experiment and capture a variety of creative compositions in a truly unforgettable setting. Capturing images of Warbirds at Biggin Hill Airport, the Ex Battle of Britain fighter station, what more can you ask for!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us—we thoroughly enjoyed hosting you, and we can’t wait to see all the images you captured during the session. We’re already looking ahead to our next photography session, so be sure to keep an eye on our social channels for upcoming announcements.
