Warbird Photography Event hosted by Darren Harbar

Biggin Hill at nightfall photography event

Step into history as daylight fades and engines roar to life at Biggin Hill at Nightfall — an exclusive, after-hours aviation photography event hosted by one of the UK’s most respected aviation photographers, Darren Harbar.
Set within the legendary Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar, this is a rare opportunity to photograph iconic warbirds in a dramatic, ever-changing atmosphere. Get up close to active restoration projects, with RAF re-enactors and authentic 1940s vehicles staged around the aircraft to bring the spirit of the Battle of Britain vividly to life.

The evening launches with a personal introduction from Darren Harbar, followed by captivating talks from a Spitfire pilot and warbird engineers, offering incredible insight into the aircraft you’ll soon be photographing. Cameras ready — you’ll then dive straight into your first shoot, capturing period scenes inside the hangar as golden hour gives way to dusk.

Halfway through the session, warm up with complimentary hot drinks and snacks before the real magic begins.

As darkness falls, the hangar transforms into a photographer’s playground. Up to three aircraft will take centre stage in a spectacular night shoot, dramatically lit with bold, colourful illumination. Capture the raw power of aviation as exhaust flames burst into the night and the propellers spin into a glowing full-circle yellow halo, creating once-in-a-lifetime long-exposure images.

This is not just a photography event — it’s an immersive journey into aviation history, power, and atmosphere. Expect noise, light, fire, history, and unforgettable images.
