Ride in a Spitfire from Blackbushe Airport and see leafy Surrey and Hampshire from the skies.
After departing ‘into wind’ from runway 07 or 25 you’ll climb to around 2000ft, usually heading West where you’ll have clear views of the surrounding countryside and away from the busier airspace of Farnborough, Heathrow and RAF Odiham. The Hampshire downs make a spectacular dackdrop to perform a Spitfire Victory Roll and enjoy the performance of the V12 Merlin engine.
The grade 1 Listed Highclere Castle, country seat of the Earls of Carnarvon and home of TV’s ‘Downton Abbey’, is within reach and makes a popular destination to view from the skies with its 5,000 acre grounds designed by Capability Brown.
Regardless of your destination you’ll be offered the chance to take the controls under the guidance of your Spitfire pilot. You too can join the small, but growing number of people who can claim ‘I’ve flown a Spitfire!’
